What We Believe
We believe:
There's a God. Only one God, in fact, and He is the creator of everything. We believe some of the most important words in the Bible are found in the first five words of the Bible, Genesis 1:1: In the beginning, God created.
Each of us are made in His image, which means we're like Him in many ways, except that he's God and we're not. Actually it's very hard for us, as finite humans, to fully grasp and understand our infinite God. He's loving and just and constantly seeks a relationship with us. Each of us are individuals with free will, which means we have the freedom to respond to the relationship that God has initiated with us, or not.
We're free to choose to live outside the realm of the life God has intended for us as it's explained in the Bible. Said another way, many choices we make either move us closer to God or further away from Him. Making even seemingly small decisions that separate us from God is called sin. We all do it, and we'll continue to do so. Yet, even as we sin, God will love us and passionately pursue us. But here's the thing.....this gift of God's love is waiting for anyone who wants to receive it. It's called God's grace which He gives us freely and abundantly.
We need only to decide whether or not to believe and receive this stuff. If we decide to believe it, we have a new, full life that can start now and never stop. Have doubts? Have questions? That's ok to have a lot of questions and doubts along the way. Although many things are revealed to us about himself in the Bible, God remains mysterious and wonderful. Not all of our doubts will be resolved or our questions answered on this side of eternity..... we just need to understand that questions and doubts are part of our journey with God.
